Etta Marie Schneider, 76, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Community Foursquare Church, 119 E. 9th, Ottawa. Etta was born June 28, 1942, in Iola, Kansas, the daughter of George Henry Washington and Elizabeth (Widmen) Skyles. She lived most of her life in Ottawa. Etta was employed with Home Health Care as a medication aide/phlebotomist for 20 years. She also had a commercial driver’s license for several years and managed the Breakfast Bar at Comfort Inn, Ottawa. She was a member of Community Foursquare Church. Etta loved spending time with her family and greatly enjoyed her grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling and dancing in her spare time. Survivors include two children, Deb Mietchen and husband James of Baldwin City, and David Holden of Iola; four grandchildren, Donald Damron, Justin Mietchen, Jimmy Damron and Jeffery Damron and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James D. Damron; two grandsons, Daniel Damron and James Mietchen, Jr.; and sister, May Hill.
