Edward Jacob Toumayan, 86, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at his home. Graveside memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Friday, May 6, 2022, at Roselawn Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. Edward was born May 1, 1935, in the city of Jersalem in Israel, the son of Jacob and Odette (Awad) Toumayan. He traveled to the United States from Jerusalem, attending Carroll College and Marquette University earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Edward lived in many cities for extended periods, moving to Ottawa nine years ago from Kincaid, Kansas with his wife Darliene. Edward was united in marriage to Darliene Hopkins November 28, 1969, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on July 20, 2018. He was a plastic design engineer and retired from AJ Plastic 20 years ago. Edward enjoyed Sudoku puzzles, playing chess, playing cards with his grandchildren and picking apples. Spending time taking care of his wife Darliene was always important to him. Edward was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Survivors include his children, Geoffry Toumayan, Byron L. Hay, Brenda R. Brown, Becci L. Olson and Barbara J. Pluhar; sister, Celeste Shami, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
