Dorothy H. Humiston, 96, of Princeton, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Richmond Healthcare & Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 8, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Dorothy was born December 25, 1921, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Jesse Arvle and Anna Belle (Musgrove) Fields. She was a lifelong Franklin County resident. She graduated from Greenwood High School, Franklin County. Dorothy was united in marriage to Kenneth James Humiston March 23, 1939. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Anna Belle Fields; son, Marion Humiston; baby sister, Lodessa Maxine Fields; and great grandson, Andrew Parker. Survivors include her three children, Pat Kueser and husband Dean of Richmond, Gayle Humiston and wife Janet of Pomona, and Dean Humiston and wife Peggy of Princeton; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother as well as working as a nurse’s aide for Ransom Memorial Hospital. She was also employed with JCPenney Department Store and worked for Clifford Haverty at Zero Meat Locker. Dorothy’s priority in life was to love and care for her family.
