Dennis Roger Domnanish, age 62, of Princeton, Kansas, died Monday, April 4, 2011, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, Kansas. He was born on Friday, February 18, 1949, in Ottawa, the son of Eugene and Hazel (Perry) Domnanish. He grew up outside of Princeton on the family farm, moving to Ottawa following his marriage to Kathy in 1969. A year later, they returned to the family farm, where he made his home until his death. Dennis graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1967. From 1969 to 1972, he worked for General Motors in Kansas City in assembly; was owner and operator of Domnanish Farms outside of Princeton from 1972 to present; and currently president of Sunflower Pork, Inc., a Kansas pork producer. Dennis served as an aircraft mechanic in the Naval Air Reserves from 1968 to 1974, at the Naval Air Base in Olathe, Kansas. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa. Dennis enjoyed reading and becoming proficient in all areas of farming, enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren, fishing, traveling, watching sports and loved going to dinner and a movie. The three things most important to Dennis were his family, friends, and farming. On December 13, 1969, Dennis was united in marriage with Kathy Spratt (NKA Kathy Gretencord). To this marriage, three daughters were born. They were later divorced. On February 14, 2004, Dennis was united in marriage with Mary Ann Knape. They were later divorced. Dennis was currently in a loving relationship with Kathy Leach of Pomona. Survivors includes; Mother-Hazel Domnanish of Olathe, Kansas, Daughter-Chanda Snow of Ottawa, Kansas, Daughter-Suzanne Toumberlin and her husband, Eric, of Ottawa, Kansas, Daughter-Amanda Domnanish of Moore, Oklahoma, Sister-Patty Domnanish of Kansas City, Kansas, Sister-Rita Murphy of Shawnee, Kansas, Sister-Carolyn Dahl and her husband, Merlin, of Finley, North Dakota, Brother-Jim Domnanish of Spring, Texas, Brother-Terry Domnanish and his wife, Maria, of Paola, Kansas, Grandchildren-Mackenzie and Megan Snow of Ottawa, Kansas, Emma and Abby Toumberlin of Ottawa, Kansas, Nieces-Cassandra Kisse (North Dakota), Chloe’ Domnanish (Texas), Samantha Domnanish (Texas) Nephews-Ben Dahl (North Dakota), Brant Domnanish (Paola, Kansas), Darin Domnanish (Olathe, Kansas) Many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his father,Eugene Domnanish. SERVICES: A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011. IN STATE: Mr. Domnanish will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday at Dengel & Son Mortuary, where a Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. followed by family and friends visitation at 7:00.
