David L. Brown, 61, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at his home in Ottawa, Kansas, with his family by his side. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 8, 2015, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. David was born Sunday, September 6, 1953, in Manhattan, Kansas, the son of Raymond and Evelyn (Harrison) Brown. He grew up in Manhattan attending Manhattan High School. At the age of seventeen he moved to Garden City, Kansas, where he lived until 1978. He returned to Manhattan until 1999, transferred to Gardner, Kansas, and in 2007, moved to Ottawa, where he made his home until his death. David was united in marriage with Michelle Bonabhan. They later divorced. Survivors include his two daughters, Dezerae Steuber and husband Jesse of Spring Hill, Kansas, and Katrina Oshel and husband Bret of Ottawa; eight siblings, Johnny Brown of Westmoreland, Kansas, Gary Brown of Ellsworth, Kansas, Buddy Brown of Leonardville, Kansas, Danny Brown of St. George, Kansas, Donald Brown of Junction City, Kansas, Rita Torres of Scott City, Kansas, Denise Turney of Branson, Missouri, and Sandy Estes of Westmoreland; and six grandchildren, Isaac, Quinten, Jessica, and Launah Steuber, and Alexis and Allan Oshel. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Laura Ann Brown, and Mary Ellen Brown; and brother, Guy Junior Morris. For twenty-three years David drove a truck for Galen Blenn Trucking of Westmoreland, Kansas. In 1999, he began working for Steel & Pipe Supply in Olathe, retiring in 2002 due to a workplace injury.
