Thomas R."Tom" Morey, age 81, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010. He was born on Wednesday, March 20, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was the son of Francis and Hazel (Sedgwick) Morey.
RESIDENCE HISTORY: He was a resident of Ottawa, in Franklin County, Kansas, the past eighteen years.
EDUCATION: Tom was a high school graduate and majored in engineering in college.
OCCUPATION & BUSINESS: He was a Federal Civil Service employee for twenty years, retiring in 1992.
GOVERNMENT SERVICE: Tom served in the United States Army during the Korean War from August 20, 1948, to May 1, 1952. He received medals and citations including Japan Occ. Medal, Combat Inf. Badge, Korean Syc. Medal, Korean Pres. Unit Cit., 1 Camp Star, and Good Conduct Medal.
MEMBERSHIPS: He was Lutheran baptized, attended First Christian Church, and lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5901, both of Ottawa.
MARRIAGE: On September 9, 1982, Tom was united in marriage with Donna M. Bennett, in Reno, Nevada. She survives of their home.
SERVICES: Graveside Services will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010.
