Dororthy Nadine Nitcher

Dorothy Nadine Nitcher, age 87 of Ottawa, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa. She was born on Tuesday, January 20, 1925 in Agricola, Kansas the daughter of Wilbur Harry Kristenson and Juanita Lucille (Hartpence) Kristenson.

Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Franklin County.

She attended rural grade schools and Ottawa High School and Wellsville High School.

Dorothy was a homemaker and also assisted her husband for 35 years with their business, Nitcher's Floor Service.

She attended Cherry Street Wesleyan Church, was a 55 year member of Hazel Rebakah Lodge, and a life member of Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5901 Auxiliary, and Ottawa Woman’s Bowling Association all of Ottawa.

On May 23, 1942 Dorothy was united in marriage with Gail Orth Nitcher at Ottawa. He preceded her in death June 9, 2001.

She is survived by her Four Daughters: Wanda Davis and her husband, Gary, of Ottawa, Kansas; Donna Welton and her husband, Roger, of Ottawa, Kansas; Cathy Miller and her partner, Ray Taylor, of Ottawa, Kansas and "Dee" Huske and her husband, Roy, of Ottawa, Kansas. One Sister:Betty Barnes of Ottawa, Kansas. One Sister-in-law: Doris Kristenson of Ottawa, Kansas.

11 Grand Children; 24 Great Grand Children;17 Great- Great Grand Children.

She was preceded in death by her: Husband - Gail Nitcher; Parents - Wilbur Harry Kristenson and Juanita Lucille (Hartpence) Kristenson; Brother - Wilbur H. Kristenson, Jr.; Granddaughter –Annette Campbell and Grandson – Rick Campbell.

SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012.

IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Nitcher after 10:00 a.m. Monday at Dengel & Son Mortuary where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8 Monday evening.

CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery.
