DENGEL & SON MORTUARY
|
At Dengel and Son Mortuary we believe that a beautiful environment is an important component in creating a memorable tribute to a loved one. Ours is an ongoing mission to maintain an environment that is always clean, fresh and uplifting. Our goal is for family and friends to feel as comfortable as possible. Friends and relatives come from all walks of life and from different areas of the country to attend funerals, and we want the families we serve to be proud of choosing our funeral home. Please join us for a tour of our funeral home.
Our Spanish style building was built in 1930. It features beautiful walnut woodwork and the original chandeliers are hanging in the chapel. During a major addition in 1990, we salvaged the original Spanish cement moldings from the front of the building and incorporated them into the new addition. Our goal was to remain as true as possible to the original architectural style. Our beautiful chapel features stained glass windows and comfortable seating. The building has been enlarged several times so that we may accommodate large families and many friends. The chapel will seat two hundred and the family room will seat an additional seventy. Overflow seating, serviced by a speaker system, is also available.
An attractive entrance leads to a large foyer that welcomes relatives and friends. It has two guest registers and a convenient restroom nearby.
In the arrangement room, families gather around a large table and over a cup of coffee to plan a celebration to honor the life of a loved one. The arrangement room is equipped with an exhaust system so that members of the family may smoke if they choose.
We have added a ramp that leads into the building at the front entrance and have removed the steps that lead into the family room entrance and the double doors through which the pallbearers carry the casket. Our new restroom is handicapped accessible, and we have a wheelchair available when needed. There are 40 million Americans with disabilities, and if we have helped only one, making our building handicap accessible was well worth the effort. Our expansion in 1990 included a beautiful covered drive. It accommodates the hearse and family car, providing protection from the elements for the family and the pallbearers. It is also a pleasant place for the family to gather before going to the cemetery. Our 1999 Lincoln hearse and limousine are very attractive and are in excellent condition. We also have available a GMC Yukon XL for the pallbearers so that they may ride to the cemetery together.
We show a large selection of Batesville caskets, from economical to exquisite, consisting of sealer and non-sealer metal caskets, precious metals of copper and bronze, and a large variety of hardwood caskets. The Batesville Casket Company is a leader in the industry and has a reputation for fine quality
